Hier die Worte von Philip Bailey zum Tod von Maurice White:
Maurice White my Brother
Nothing can prepare you for losing one of the most significant People in your life.
It’s a Heart Wowzer.
It’s a head and emotional spinner, that sucks all of your energy.
But on the other side, I’m rejoicing at Maurice getting that Fire he once had and a Trillion times more.
He finished his race... and now, he gets his wings so to speak, a never ending, everlasting ability to soar freely,
with Radiance and splendor in the glory of God's Love.
It's what we use to talk about, what we use to write and sing about.
He gets there before I do and I can just about bet somebody a star that he will be showing off
and showing out so when I get there, I can say, “Teach me how to do that”.
I will miss you my Big Brother Maurice. Down here.
But where you are, I’m sure that you wouldn’t come back even if you could.
You were a Big Brother, at times a Father figure, a Teacher, a Preacher and The Greatest Friend
who could crack me up with your down home humor, and mad swagger.
Love Love Love Evermore.
Your Brother Philip James Bailey
So many Melodies, so many Memories.
