Mal sehen, was es dann am 3. Abend gibt... Die elektrische Layla da hinten als Closer wäre schon sehr geil.

Bin 100 % Deiner Meinung, besonders was "High Time..." angeht. Ich kann's nicht mehr hören! Hoffen wir mal das Beste für Mannheim etc. Zumindest bewegt sich mal wenigstens ein klein bisschen was.

Ja, "High Time We Went" ist auch für mich das schlechteste Finale, was Eric spielen kann.
Aber wir sollten letztlich nicht zu kritisch sein, mit dem was er gerne spielen möchte.

Ich habe im Netz einen Beitrag gelesen, der stammt von einem der wohl profundesten Kenner von
Eric's Musik, sowohl was seine Gitarren, als auch was seine Historie angeht.
Dieses Statement möchte ich hier mal zur Diskussion teilen.
Der Autor ist aus Finnland, hat übrigens schon 1969 das Blind Faith Konzert in Helsinki gesehen,
und folgt Eric's Karriere bis heute aufmerksam.

"There's nothing new about the moaning over EC's choice of songs. It's been around all the way throughout his career:

Even in the days of Cream people we're complaining, that they didn't play enough straight blues.
During Blind Faith, Derek & Dominos and all through the 70's they we're shouting for Cream hits
and when finally in mid 80's Eric started performing them, he was accused of selling out with Cream's classics.

In the early 90's people didn't like him playing so much new material from August and Journeyman
and many hated him playing Unplugged. When he did 3 years of incredible blues concerts, people we're disappointed,
because he didn't play Wonderful Tonight and Lay Down Sally and straight after that,
those musically fabulous Pilgrim and Reptile-tours we're once again criticized for too few blues and Cream numbers.
And of course after Internet came the moaning over setlists has grown to horrendous dimensions.

I mean, there's no way an artist, who has recorded hundreds of songs, can satisfy the needs of
every nostalgic person in the audience... AND he shouldn't!!! He should play just the way he wants
after all these years of complaints from criticizing "fans".
