Neues Album "Old Sock"

Slightly less happy we were when we these days the 21 Studio album by Eric Clapton fell into their hands. It actually says 'Old Sock' (Polydor / Universal), and the longer we looked at the CD, the more clearly, was that someone, perhaps even the master himself, has done just purely creatively a real feat: The cover is still incomprehensible to the as Title of the plate. So really so ugly that it is impossible to talk about this album without losing a word about the cover. The font must be a graphic of Tigerenten clubs have chosen: the letters are obviously look as if they had been nailed together from Comic-wood planks. And in the middle of a lousy cell phone exposure snapshot Clapton hat emblazoned with palm trees in front. What we want to please the once best and usually most stylish white blues guitarist to say? Is there under the old socks a highly doped competition for the ugliest cover of pop history? The music is then, unfortunately, no more than a sampler with glazed covers of Clapton's favorite songs. Taj Mahal 'Further On Down The Road' to Gershwin's 'Our Love Is Here To Stay'. There are very famous guests, J.J. Cale, Steve Winwood and Paul McCartney, but no magic. 'Old Sock' is a completely superfluous album. What a pity. We recommend as an antidote to a small Youtube tour Clapton performances from the sixties. And the recently released videos in which he herumimprovisiert for an American guitar shop on strictly limited edition prints of his favorite instruments. Wow, what a tone still is in those fingers! Just like that, sometimes just two minutes from the sofa chair casually out. Where is the producer, the Clapton can finally be back more than a lame painters of his fame?

Neue Schwangerschaft (Vater werden mit über 65, grenzwertig, zumindest fürs Kind), Cover fürs Regal, Ärger beim Zoll. Äh, worum gehts hier eigentlich? Ich dachte ums neue Album! Offenbar findets keiner gut, inklusive dem Schreiberling der Süddeutschen: "There Is No Magic", bei der Hammond von Winwood bei "Still Got The Blues" schon, I´m Sorry. Nach einem Jahr Pause hatten wir wohl alle noch mehr erhofft, doch ich mag "Old Sock" und wünschte mir noch mehr Tracks im Live-Programm. Und auch das gefällt mir dieses Jahr!

@darkstar90: Doch. Du bist nicht alleine. Auch ich habe mir etwas anderes erwartet, doch je öfter ich "Old Sock" höre, desto mehr mag ich sie. EC & Reggae funktioniert schon gut!

Also, schwanger ist Ruth - seine Tochter EC wird also nicht erneut Vater, sondern erstmals Opa Und das wird er sicherlich gern.
Falls er dann irgendwann wieder ein neues Album aufnimmt, sind bestimmt auch ein paar Kinderlieder mit drauf. Er ist da ja recht flexibel

"Twinkle, twinkle, little star..." - mit den richtigen Gitarrentönen kann das ein Hit werden

Noch kurz zum eigentlichen Thema: Mir gefällt "Still got the Blues" unheimlich gut. Manchmal hör ich es in Dauerschleife beim Autofahren und bin fast sauer, wenn ich schon am Ziel bin, bevor der Song zuende ist. Vom Rest der CD weiß ich nicht recht, was ich davon halten soll. Mal hör ich sie gern, dann wieder nervt sie mich total. So richtig "warm" werd ich nicht mit ihr, aber vielleicht hab ich sie noch nicht oft genug gehört.
