In diesem Interview nimmt er auch Stellung zu seinen immer gleichen Setlists, auch zu einer möglichen zweiten Cream-Reunion.
So ähnlich hat er sich auch schon früher geäußert, es ist halt sehr viel Arbeit für einen Perfektionisten, immer neue Stücke einzuüben, da gibt er zu, doch eher faul zu sein...
Ich finde, es sei ihm gegönnt mit fast 70 und einer jungen Familie! Keine (weiten) Tourneen mehr ist auch in Ordnung. Es gibt noch sooo viel tolles, altes Material neu zu veröffentlichen, darum sollte er sich vorwiegend kümmern...

Hier der betreffende Auszug aus dem Interview:

"When I get on stage I play things I'm comfortable playing that are just natural. If you give me an electric guitar and plug me into an amp there are three or four songs I'll immediately want to play - ' Tell The Truth ' , ' Pretending ' ' I Shot The Sheriff ' - they are like old armchairs. To learn something that's great on record but doesn't necessarily have stage potential requires a lot of hard work, you know, and I don't want to work..so we are always going to do' Cocaine ' because that's a great closer, a finishing song, And a slow blues ' Before You Accuse Me ' or something like that. And I'll do ' Layla ' acoustic - just things that are recognisable by the crowd, but fairly approachable for me. ' Hoochie Coochie Man ' stuff like that.' So there we have it from the man himself, but I think many of us had already known that this was the case for some time….And as an aside note definitely no more Cream Reunions - At this time of my life I don't want blood on my hands. I don't want to be part of some kind of tragic confrontation ' Enough said on that topic !"

Hallo Helma,

die Adresse die oben angegeben ist kann man wirklich empfehlen. habe da schon öfter mal UNCUT oder MOJO Ausgabe gekauft.
Du kannst auch in jedem besseren Zeitungsgeschäft oder Bahnhofsbuchhandel bestellen, manchmal haben die auch 1-2 Ausgaben
davon da. Allerdings nehmen die auch zwischen 13 und 15 € für das Magazin und man hat nach Fahrerei, Parkgebühren usw.

Auszug aus dem Interview.

Veteran rocker Eric Clapton has denied reports he wrecked plans for a Cream reunion tour, insisting he has not spoken to fellow bandmembers Ginger Baker and Jack Bruce for almost ten years.

In 2013, Bruce claimed the legendary trio was planning to reunite for a series of gigs but the comeback collapsed over a bust-up between guitarist Clapton and drummer Baker.

However, the comment came as news to Clapton - he is adamant he has not spoken to his former bandmates since their previous reunion shows in New York in 2005.

He tells Uncut magazine, "Nobody has talked to me about anything. I haven't spoken to Jack or Ginger for quite a time. I don't think there's been any line of dialogue between any of us - or between me and them, that is to say - since the American affair. After that I was pretty convinced that we had gone as far as we could without someone getting killed."

"At this time in my life I don't want blood on my hands! I don't want to be part of some kind of tragic confrontation... I think if there was a different dynamic underlying it all - if we were people who occasionally had lunch together, or lived in the same neighborhood, or hung out - then you'd have a friendship and a reliable dialogue going on, where you could just say, 'Why don't we just do a couple (of concerts)?'... There is no relationship between the three of us whatsoever - or between me and them, anyway. I don't talk to them from one year to the next."

Da kann ich nur die beiden Autobiagraphien der Herren Bruce & Baker empfehlen. Hellraiser & Composing himself sind zumindest auf Englisch erhältlich. Wer von den beiden Streithähnen natürlich "Recht hat" ist da schon irgendwie Wurscht, aber zumindest Jack Bruce geht in seiner Bio kurz auf den NY-Incident ein. Und nachdem ich 2006 bei seinem Auftritt im HR-Sendesaal die Möglichkeit hatte mit Jack Bruce zu sprechen, kamen wir auch auf das Thema "Cream Reunion", da er mir mein Cream-Tourbook signierte. Er wirkte dabei mehr als ehrlich und offen - auch was eigenes Fehlverhalten angeht! Und er hätte schon damals gerne mehr gemacht ...

Ich muss ganz ehrlich sagen, dass ich Jack Bruce's Version eher glaube, nachdem ich Baker in den letzten Jahren auch ein paar Mal "live" erlebt habe.
