Hier sei nur kurz an den Hit "Respect" erinnert. Auch ihr Blues Brothers Auftritt war irre gut.

Gestern noch hat Bob Adcock, 1968 der "Roadie" von Cream, diese schöne Anekdote
von einer Begegnung in New York gepostet:

The first time I ever went to New York was back in the 60s when Cream were recording
at Atlantic Records on 1841 Broadway. I was carrying one of Eric's guitars in one hand and my suitcase
in the other as I had gone directly to the studio from JFK. I was struggling to navigate the small entrance door
to the building when suddenly the door flew open and a lovely lady held it open for me as she smiled and said "After you, hon..."
It was the great Aretha Franklin and it saddens me greatly to hear that she is currently seriously ill.
Without doubt, one of the very greatest of singers of all time.
God bless you Aretha - your voice made a lot of people very happy and I will never forget your gesture in N.Y.

"When She (Aretha) back in 1968 saw the psychedelic costume of Eric, she started to laugh,
but when Eric played the guitar, she stopped to laugh, because he was the real thing"

Eine großartige Frau mit großartiger Stimme.....
Ich hätte sie so gerne Live gehört, nur war ihre Gesundeit seit Jahren nicht die Beste.
Ich hatte es 4x versucht und immer wurden die Auftritte abgesagt zuletzt im März diesen Jahres in Newark.

Auch Eric hat sich zum Tod von Aretha gemeldet:
