Hendrix und kein Ende!
A brand new documentary devoted to the life and work of Jimi Hendrix will be coming to DVD on November 5. But the film, Jimi Hendrix: Hear My Train A Comin’, isn’t the only bit of Hendrix nostalgia dropping that day. Also set to be released on November 5 is a CD featuring eleven songs culled from Hendrix’s performances at 1968’s Miami Pop Festival. An outrageously amped and blazing version of “Fire” from Miami Pop Festival has just been released into the wild. The Miami Pop Festival will enter the canon of essential Hendrix recordings.

In addition to “Fire,” the live CD features the first recorded stage performances of “Hear My Train A Comin’” and “Tax Free,” as well as Hendrix staples such as “Hey Joe,” “Purple Haze” and “Foxey Lady.” One of the two renditions of “Foxey Lady” featured on Miami Pop Festival was posted to the official Hendrix YouTube account last month.
